My dear Supporters, Family, and Friends-
I have to apologize that this letter is getting out so late. As of last week my computer has been dead in the water. Lord willing I will be able to get the part needed replaced, and have it back in working order soon.
This past month has been an interesting combination of activites. Along with my normal work, there have been a few extra things going on. I would like to give you an update on both of these.
First, the normal work. As of three weeks ago, Daniel (the missionary) and I, as well as, Alex, (an AIM student) have started working again at the elementary school, teaching computer class. We are excited to have this opportunity, being able not only to work with the children, building relationships with them and their families, but also a reputation in the community.
I have continued to work with my English students, and there has been some progress with one. Adele, who has her origins in Cameroon, but has been brought up in France, is a member of the Pentecostal church. We have been studying together for the past two, almost three months now, and we are coming to a point, I believe, that we are able to have not only a friend relationship, but a spiritual one. Our last class we where able to talk about some of the spiritual battles that we have been fighting, and it opened the door, I pray, for a deeper relationship with her. My hope is to bring her into our community of Christians, and be an example to her, as well as a friend.
On Tuesday nights we have begun something new. Formally we where having a Bible study at our home, but due to many reasons, there have been less and less members and/or visitors attending. What we have decided to do then, as a church, is split up into very small groups and visit those members/visitors who can not come to us. I have been working with Daniel and Jessica (an AIM student) visiting and studying with Philip, a man from Africa. Our last time together we talked about his concerns about homosexuality, and it was brought to his attention that the Bible speaks against such actions. Daniel sees him as been a potential convert in the future. We continue to pray for him, and for the growth of His faith in our Lord.
As for the events that have taken place, outside of our normal schedule, there seem to be many. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we where blessed to be able to sponsor the European AIM retreat, where we had 21 students, and staff members from six different countries come and join us. The weekend was spent with lessons, worship, and activities designed to help encourage the AIM students in their work.
As the year comes to a close, so does the time period designated for some of the students working with us. As of December 20th, LeighAnna Bliss, who has been with us for a year and a half will be moving back to the states. Danielle Normandid as well, on January 9th will be leaving us. We pray that the Lord will take them to places that they will be able to continue to serve Him with all their hearts, and we are thankful for the time that they have been able to spend with us here. I am personally going to miss them a great deal, since they have been such an intimate part of my life, not only as room mates, friends and sisters, but as fellow workers in the Lord?s kingdom.
I will end here with the request that you all continue to pray for the work that is going on in Strasbourg, for the faith of not only those who are being taught, but also those teaching. God bless you all.
In the serve of Christ our Lord,
Pamela D.
