June 2007

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ –

The past month has really been one of great blessings. We started the month, like I reported in my last newsletter, with our annual campaign. We were blessed with a group of students from Freed Hardeman University in Tennessee who helped us to distribute over 20,000 invitations to study the Bible. Immediately after the campaign, I brought my mother back to Paris, and saw her off at the airport, and then returned to the Mohsen’s (the missionaries in Paris) to help them prepare for the Bible Bowl in Mauritius Island as well as help them to update their web page ( www.egliseduchrist-deodat.com ).

While in Paris I was able to help by translating different documents we will need for the Bible Bowl, creating the certificates for the winners, as well as creating different posters for the conferences we will be having. We will start with the Bible Bowl the first Saturday we are there, followed by a week of conferences in the evenings, with door knocking in the mornings. We will continue the door knocking, and Lord willing, in-home Bible studies throughout the rest of the month.

During my time in Paris we were able to get the web page updated with a variety of new resources both in French and English, for people to use. We are excited to have new things present on the web page, and Lord willing they will be resources that will help teach people the gospel for years to come.

The first week I was in Paris we were blessed with a visit from the new AIM students that are working in Strasbourg. They came to Paris and were a great deal of help to the missionaries here, offering their hands in any way they could.

On the 21st though the 26th I had the opportunity to go back to Strasbourg and send some time with the church, as well as hand over some of my work and contacts to the new students. It was my birthday on the 23th, and so I took the opportunity to invite the Frerots (the missionaries) the AIM students, Ann Pascal (a member of the church) and Laeticia (one of my friends over). Lord willing it was a good opportunity for the new students to meet with Laeticia on a social basis, get to know here, and be able to build a friendship with her for the future. We were also able to hand the work on the web page over to the boys. They quickly learned what needed to be done, and I have full confidence that the work we have put into the web page will not go to waste, and it will be a useful tool for the gospel for years to come, Lord willing!

On the 28th we are departing for Mauritius Island. Please keep us, the group from Paris, as well as all the groups that are going from different places throughout the world in your prayers. Lord willing this will be a great encouragement to the church in Mauritius and will be a tool God uses to grow the church there.

Please also keep me in your prayers for my return to the states and as I begin Sunset on August 11th. I am looking forward to being school and learning more about the Word of God, on an in-depth level. I am nervous, leaving the place I have known for so long, but I believe that this is an opportunity for me to learn more and be more prepared for my future life in missions.

I am including at the bottom again the list of my needs for the future, knowing that it is God who provides all things.

Thank you all so much for the work you put into making my work possible. It is because of your support that I am able to be here, doing the things I am doing. I pray that God is glorified in all that we are doing, and that His kingdom grows more and more!

God bless you all –

Pamela D.

Needs

Monthly support –

As of now I have $200/month for school in Lubbock. Going to Sunset requires that I am at school from 8:30 until 4:00 Monday through Thursday and 8:30 until 12:00 on Friday. Because of these hours, and the homework load that is given, I will not be able to get a job. Thus, I must rely on the support of the church, knowing that they will provide for me, as I am working full time for the kingdom. I am in needs of $1,000/month total starting in August 2007, and ending in May 2009, when I graduate.

One computer –

For the past three years I have been working on setting up and up keeping web pages for various churches including Strasbourg, Paris, Verviers Belgium and Mauritius Island. While I am going back to America, my work with these pages which have been great out reach tools, will not stop. My computer, being 10 years old, is almost completely dead. (to the point that there are multiple keys that no long work, and this is one of the smaller problems). I am thus, in need of a new computer. I have been looking around, and have found refurbished Macs (since that is what my software is compatible with) that are about $1,000. This will allow me to continue my work with the French world.

One car –

When I move to Lubbock, I will be attending Sunset. I am going to be living in an apartment with two other girls about 2 miles from the school. I also want to help with the AIM program starting in December, and we are required to go different churches throughout the area each Sunday. I would like a car to be able to be more accessible to those whom I am trying to minister to. I don’t want anything fancy, just four wheels and a motor. Having talked with my parents, and gotten some advice, I believe that I could buy a reliable car for $2,000.
